What's more appropriate than enjoying Chinese music to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most important traditional festivals? Shenzhen Concert Hall has curated an intimate chamber concert for Sunday, ahead of the festival next Tuesday.

THIS Thursday evening, the Shenzhen Chamber Orchestra, the first professional chamber orchestra based in Shenzhen, will make their debut at the Shenzhen Concert Hall, performing works by Mendelssohn, Borodin, Richard Strauss, and Piazzolla.

FOR those who want a hassle-free holiday near their home turf, Shenzhen Concert Hall has prepared four concerts for fans during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, including a piano recital, a piano and vocal event, a crossover show, and a Chinese instrument concert.

THIS Saturday, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra (SPB), conducted by Nikolay Alexeev, will perform works from two Russian masters as well as Maurice Ravel. The talented young pianist Ilya Papoyan, the third prizewinner at the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition last year, will headline the show.

LOCAL fans are in for a treat tomorrow evening as French cellist Gautier Capuçon, accompanied by pianist Jérôme Ducros, will debut at Shenzhen Concert Hall, performing a classical repertoire for the strings.
